Describe the eggs
Trade known and practiced in Botosani's area like in all our country,
from the old times describing the eggs, has been associated with special
believes and Easter's feast. From here householders are preparing at time
all for having Easter's red eggs, "worked" eggs. Red eggs means
it usual eggs colored in red, without decorations motifs. The eggs describe
have fund red outline with white. The eggs "worked" are the
most difficult to achieve. Eggs have spots colored deferent. Tradition
says that eggs must be usually colored in red. In time eggs were painted
in different colors: blue, yellow, green, etc. In that area where interior
textiles were painted with vegetal coloring it touch a true master piece.
It's understandable that the same coloring were used for the painted eggs,
till the XIX century, when, the chemical coloring appeared. The system
of painting consist in drying and boiling the leaves fruit or tree skins,
to obtain juice then put the eggs in those solution and fixed the color
trough leaves, from plum peel etc., and the yellow from peel and leaves.
Light yellow result from onions leaves boiling, from nuts leaves result
different shades of green, and from bark result black color. First were
preparing white and thin skin egg, because the paint must be uniform.
In the same time was prepared a very clean or unsaid vessel. First eggs
were introduced in the yellow paint where they were left au hour then
were dry very carefully and were introduced in red and black color every
housekeeper knows to paint eggs, but not everybody know to paint them.
The Easter's Thursday morning was reserved for painting and describing
eggs. A day before they are preparing eggs and colors. For the act of
describing the housekeeper is preparing the pen, and is a vessel she put
the clean bee wax. The pen is made from a thin piece of wood 10-15cm long,
and 1cm thin. After every thing is ready begins the process of painting
begins. The egg is taken with the left hand and using the wooden tool
the model is realized. After all eggs are painted with wax she puts them
in color and she boils them. The place where the wax was remains white.
This way the painted eggs are obtained. In case of "worked"
eggs, these have to be put first in yellow color, kept 30-60 minutes,
and then have to be try. The process of describe begins with the yellow
color, and then white red and black. With a soft textile eggs have to
be cleaned. In that way appears different colors, and the font keeps the
last nuance. Finely each egg is amounted with a piece in oil,for polish
them.In Botosani area
deserice of egg has a great variety of motive,realized with line and point.
In Bucovina area are dominating geometric motives,but in Botosani area
are very often the vegetable and zoomorf motives and symbolic motive.

The red eggs
In Romania, at Easter, the women paint eggs in the red color, because
this tradition it's keeping of very much years, and she is begin in
day when Issues was crucified for as and for our steams. It's say, that
when Issues
was crucify, one woman had a basked with eggs and one drop at Issue's
blood it's drooped in that moment, even in the basket with eggs, and
these become reds. Of then in all years of the Saint Holiday "Easter",
the peoples paint eggs with red and with another colours.
