This is our school, an old building from the nineteenth century. It is situated in a natural environment, a few minutes from the heart of Gijon We have 265 pupils, from 3 to 12; some of them are mentally or physically disabled. The teaching staff is 25; kitchen staff is 11 as well as 4 employees.
Our educational project is based on Respect to Human Rights. Equality and nondiscrimination among people. Tolerance and respect to all people in spite of their opinions and believes. Democratic management of the school, working together all members (teachers, parents, pupils, workers…etc.)
We have 2 educational levels:
Nursery (3-5) focuses on getting total development of the children, increasing their abilities in a stimulating and familiar atmosphere, using games as educational method.
Primary School (6-12) focuses on developing their intellectual and creative abilities making up human beings, and arranging their personal autonomy through a whole, individual teaching.
