On 17 December
1989 the Romanian people from Timisoara made a rising the Communism Regime and against Nicolae Ceausescu. On 22 December the people from Bucharest joined them. On this day Ceausescu and his wife Elena flown with the helicopter from C.C. of P.C.R. Now, after ten years, the romanian people notice that in the communism regime of Ceausescu, life was easier, the people didn't worry for tomorrow because they had a place to work, a house to live in and food wasn't hard to get and was not so expensive, but we couldn't find grocery like : milk, meat, oil, sugar and cheese. The peolple to get up early every morning to get them. In winter the houses were bad heated, the light was interrupted many times every day. At T.V and radio and the news were about how great live was, we couldn't hear nothing about people who were happy and who had where to work.Singers and actresess, poets and writers, even the reporters spoke and sing about the Romanian Communism party and its achievements. The people couldn't speak their mind because the security and the party had their informers in every city, and people were afraid to talk. People couldn't think, couldn't speak free the party spoke for them and people learned and obeyed. We didn't know about people in the other contries, about what was new. Now we try to think and do something on our own, bat a place to work is hard to find our days, and every thing is too expensive, people can't buy all they need to live properly. |
Romanian
products are of bad quality and cost to much, so people buy mor imported thing because the quality is better and cost dittle. It's hard because people can't understand that they have to work in order to have something, they don't have to wait for someone to give them ideas and push them from behind. We have to change many gen erations for our contry to achieve something. I interviewed my parents, Balta Mihai and Viorica, around 40 years old. Elena Balta 7th B grade |
