Only ten years ago, in 1989, Romanian people reversed the communist power. During the discussion with my students I’ve discovered that the reality of the past is unknown by them, worse, they even can’t think about it! Their parents, with their daily problems, forget often the bad aspects of those times, and sometimes they have the tendency to remember only the good part of the communist era. I believe that it is our duty not to leave them to forget those times!
Otherwise we risk to live them again! It is also a wonderful opportunity to develop oral history. We live very dynamic times and the reality from today becomes quickly history! I
begun the project as a theme for the consulting class. The reaction of my students was wonderful. They were very interested, they interviewed their relatives about the past and they were proud to read their stories in front of their colleagues. That’s why I decided to propose this project to the Romanian I*EARN schools.
